Valley Grass Music Videos

Welcome!
On behalf of the Board of Directors and our entire membership I'd like to welcome you to the Ottawa Valley Bluegrass Music Association website with an opportunity to visit and check out the many activities and happenings with our club. Bluegrass music in Ottawa has had a long and rich history dating back five decades. But as important as the history has been, so is the future. Our club offers an opportunity to share music and friendship with the many others that enjoy the music. So whether you are a listener, a picker, a concert goer or simply a friend to the music, we welcome you and hope that we can accommodate you in all that our Association offers. Our Board of Directors welcome communication and input, and if for not other reason to simply shout out and say hello. We would love to hear from you.  We hope to see you at concert or a jam soon.

The South Grenville Bluegrass Festival is coming up soon!  Put on by Ottawa Valley Bluegrass Music Association, and proud to be among the best.
August 10-13, in the Spencerville Fairgrounds.

The South Grenville Bluegrass Festival is a premier annual event hosted in the beautiful village of Spencerville.
Our festival is held at the Spencerville Fair Grounds, with the main stage being indoors to protect us from the weather. Lots of camping, vendors, and close proximity to the picturesque heart of Spencerville and it's lovely restaurants and services.
You can enjoy up to six days of camping and four days of music, or come for the day. Stroll through the grounds and listen to the jamming.
We bring you top-notch bluegrass music from the United States and Canada in a family-friendly environment.

Music Videos

During the COVID lockdown, when live music was scarce, we decided to post some of your videos.  We're happy to keep them here, and to add some if you have one you particularly love and would like to share.

Dear Members
April 2020

Valley Grass Bluegrass Music Association regrets that due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the  touring concerts series in 2020 have been cancelled.
In addition, the monthly jam sessions have been put on hold until further notice, as directed by government health experts.

On behalf of the Board, we do hope that everyone remains safe in these difficult times. While we have not had concerns, the music does continue with a good number of our own members and friends sharing their own recordings on Facebook and elsewhere;
Pat Moore, Leon Schwieg, Stuart Rutherford to name only a few. And my appologies for not recognizing everyone.

We will all get through this but in the meantime, send an email and check in on a friend, go old school and make phone call. If there is anything we can do to help, please reach out. We will all be back attending concerts, socializing  and or picking at jams soon. On behalf of the Board and collective membership we are praying for everyones' safety and wellness.

Dan Buch
President, Ottawa Valley Bluegrass Music Association

April 2021

Dear Members, and visitors to our website.
Well you could say this past year has been one unforgettable year, for the wrong reasons.  However, we look for the silver lining in life, and hope that you are finding ways to celebrate your love of music, and friendship, in ways that have pleasantly surprised you - like learning to play on-line; visiting or watching music from safe distances and keeping protocol in mind at all times.  A great example is the Shake the Winter Blues-Grass on line Jamboree mentioned above.  Please take time to watch these shows, and we hope you enjoy.  They are not available to view after the dates mentioned, so set aside your Tuesdays in April and catch a show.

If there are other events taking place that meet the health regulation protocol that you would like us to post here, please get in touch with a quick email.
with kind regards,

Ottawa Valley Bluegrass Music Association.
